Boat Ramp Temporarily Closed for Groyne Construction Works

Monday 16 May 2022 until further notice

Details:

Mariners are advised that the Point Richards Boat Ramp, at approximate location (WGS84) 38° 06.514’S, 144° 37.801’E will be temporarily closed for groyne construction works.
The existing Port and Starboard lateral navigation piles will remain in place for some of the construction works before they can be removed, and the channel realigned to correspond with the new entrance created by the groyne construction.
The groyne will be constructed with excavators and land-based machinery. Other supporting works will be undertaken with the use of barges and support vessels.
On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards. Further information can be found at: www.betterboating.vic.gov.au
Mariners are advised of the temporary closure, and to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works.
