Update on Point Hicks Entry Road Access

Monday 23 December, 2019

Parks Victoria wishes to advise visitors that recent vehicle restrictions to Point Hicks Lighthouse from the Thurra River campground have been lifted.

Regular monitoring, assessments and favourable weather conditions have shown that the road’s condition has stabilised and is suitable for regular vehicle traffic.

Visitors can access the road and booked Lighthouse accommodation guests do not need to be escorted to and from the premises.

Drivers should note that there is limited space for vehicles to turn around, trailers and caravans exceeding 4 metres in length are not recommended.

Visitor safety is Parks Victoria’s top priority, we are continuing to monitor the condition of the road and the adjacent beach, future restrictions will be considered if the road’s condition changes.

Visitors and guests planning to travel to Point Hicks are encouraged to visit www.parks.vic.gov.au for current conditions, prior to departure.

Please contact Parks Victoria on 13 1963 or www.parks.vic.gov.au if you have any queries.
