Have your say on Wattle Park upgrades
Monday 28 June, 2021
The community is invited to have their say on draft designs for a new playscape and upgraded walking and running track at Wattle Park in Burwood, to be developed by Parks Victoria.
The Victorian Government is investing $4.3 million into these improvements. Children and families can look forward to a diverse and fun playscape within the natural setting of the park, with opportunities for children of all abilities, including water play, swings and slides. The playscape reflects the heritage of the much-loved Wattle Park, with a proposed tram fort concept included in designs.
Parks Victoria is asking walkers, runners and track users for feedback on a proposed 3.25-kilometre-long walking and running track. The track will include upgraded sections of existing sections of track and some new links to enable a journey around the outer areas of Wattle Park.
This project is part of the $154 million Suburban Parks Program which aims to support community health and wellbeing, social connectivity and access to green open space.
Community members are invited to share their ideas and feedback on the draft design for the new playscape and upgraded running and walking track from 15 June to 11 July 2021.

“The launch of this engagement is an opportunity for the community, including local schools, to provide their feedback on the designs for the playscape and walking and running track in this special park.”
“With growing density, new housing and decreasing private open space in our city and suburbs, this project will promote recreational use in Wattle Park and contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of the community.”
“The trams are a key feature of the existing playground at Wattle Park. They will continue to be part of the park and they will have a stronger connection to the new playscape and surrounding picnic facilities.”
