Aire Crossing

Situated in a quiet, remote spot, the campground is just north of the stunning Triplet Falls.

Access
The camping area is located off Halls Ridge Road – this road is subject to seasonal closure.
Booking
No booking, no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.
Campsites
This small campground has 5 campsites accommodating a maximum of 6 people per site. All campsites are unpowered.
Facilities
Non-flush toilets are available at this basic bush campground.
Campfire
No fireplace is provided and fires are not allowed. Use fuel stoves for cooking.
Water
Some water is available but is not suitable for drinking – supply your own.
Rubbish
There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you,

Allenvale Mill Site

Access
The camping area is located just beyond the outskirts of Lorne off Allendale Road on the banks of St George River. This is a walk-in camping area, although it's only a short walk to the campground (around 200 meters).
Bookings
No booking , no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.
Campsites
There are 16 campsites available. All campsites are unpowered and are suitable for tents only.
Facilities
Non-flush toilet and a shared picnic table are available in this basic bush camping area.
Campfire
No fireplace is provided and fires are not allowed. Use fuel stoves or your own gas barbecue for cooking.
Water
No drinking water is available – supply your own.
Rubbish
There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you.

Big Hill Track camping

This campground is an open easily accessible grassy area surrounded by tall forest. It is suitable for school groups. Please note this campground is subject to seasonal closure between 1 June and 31 October inclusive.

Access
The camping area is located near the intersection of Big Hill Track and Lorne-Deans Marsh Road, Benwerrin.
Bookings
No booking, no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.
Campsites
There are 12 campsites available. All campsites are unpowered and will accommodate one vehicle. Half the sites are set aside for tents only; the other half are suitable for tents, caravans and camper-trailers.
Facilities
Non-flush toilets and shared fireplaces are available. Car parking is adjacent to the tent camping area.
Campfire
Only allowed in fireplaces provided – supply your own wood. Fuel stoves or your own gas barbecue are preferred for cooking.
Water
No drinking water is available – supply your own.
Rubbish
There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you.

  • Great Otway National Park

    Kennett-Wye Jeep Track and Bird Track closed

    Kennett-Wye Jeep Track and Bird Track will be closed until 30 June 2020 due to a landslip undermining the road.

    Upper Kalimna track closed

    The Upper Kalimna Falls walking track is closed until further notice due to damage to the boardwalk and lookout. The Lower Kalimna Falls are still accessible from Sheoak Picnic Area via Kalimna Walking Track and from Garvey Track via Kalimna Link Track.

    Wye River Campground closed

    Wye River Road Camping Area is closed until further notice due to dangerous trees

    Road Closures within Great Otway National Park

    Newcombe Spur Track, Thompson Track and Hayden Road are currently closed due to a road slip on the adjoining Goats Track. Repair works are currently underway and these tracks should reopened by mid February 2020.

    Fires in the Great Otway National Park

  • Jamieson Camping Area (Great Otway National Park)

    Jamieson Campground closed

    The Jamieson Campground, Jamieson Track and Godfrey Track, are closed until Easter 2020 to allow for site upgrades.  

    Jamieson Track campground temporary closure

    Jamieson Track campground is closed until Monday 2 March 2020 due to upgrade works.

    Herbert's Campground closed

    Herbert’s Campground is closed until further notice due to hazardous trees.
