Alpine Views Walking Track (Warby-Ovens National Park)

Enjoy expansive views of the Alps on a clear day on this walk. In spring the track is also rich in orchids and other wildflowers. The 2km one-way Grade 3 walk initially follows the Friends Track south east from Wenhams Camp and ends at Boilerwood Track. Allow 2 hours one-way.

Leave a car at both ends, or turn it into a longer circuit by following the Boilerwood Track and Salisbury Falls Track west back to Wenhams Camp.
Alternatively, follow the Salisbury Falls Track east to view the falls (after sufficient rain) and continue on to the Shanley Street carpark.

Visitor Tips: the track is steep in places and a moderate level of fitness is required. Wear sturdy footwear and carry plenty of water, especially in hot weather.

Areas closed due to localised flooding

Due to the high volumes of flow, the Ovens River is currently in flood, the following tracks are closed in the Warby-Ovens National Park:

Hills Track, Wilsons Track, Boundary track, Frosts Crossing Track, Ovens Track, Nicklaus Track, Yellow Creek Track, Cameron's Track, South Track, McLaughlin's Track, Robinsons Bend Track and McQuade's Bend Track. Local staff will monitor river heights & track conditions and reopen tracks once it is safe to do so.
