Flood affected areas within Gunbower National Park

High river levels and environmental watering within Gunbower Island are inundating camping areas and affecting access via River Track. River track is impacted between Stanton Break and Milverton Bend, resulting in access to the following bends being closed:

River Murray Reserve upstream of Lake Hume - Closures due to Flooding

The following visitor sites upstream of Lake Hume are currently closed due to flooding:
- Neils Bend
- Lighthouse Crossing
as well as Clarke Lagoon Wildlife Reserve.

These sites will be monitored and re-opened as soon as flood waters recede and access tracks and campsites have had a chance to dry out.

The following visitor sites remain open at this stage:
- Burrowye Bend
- Bullock Flat
- The Pumphouse
- Gadds Bend
- Pebble Beach
- Indi Bridge

River Murray Reserve upstream of Lake Hume - Closures due to Flooding

The following visitor sites upstream of Lake Hume are currently closed due to flooding:
- Neils Bend

Echuca Regional Park Track Closure

The recent flooding in the Echuca East region has affected Echuca Regional Park and the Murray River Reserve and limited access to various camping areas. This includes Christies Beach, Betts Beach, Boileau Beach and areas off Looker Track and Mcdonald Bend. 
The tracks that are inaccessible due to flooding include Simmie Road, Looker Track, Mcdonald Track, Boileau Track, Christies Track and Betts Track. 
The waters are rising and these tracks may be inaccessible from the 20th of September until the 20th of October and beyond (depending on water levels). 

Do not drive into flooded tracks and areas within the park including off road driving. 

Echuca Village Reserve Day Visitor Area Track Closure

Echuca Village Reserve Day Visitor Area (located between River Avenue and Lady Augusta Road) is closed to vehicles due to the recent flooding. 
The river track is flooded in several areas and the track will be closed from the 20th of September to the 20th of October or until the water subsides. 

Do not drive into flooded tracks and park areas and do not drive off road. 

Flood Affected areas within Murray River Reserve

High river levels are inundating camping areas and affecting access via main access roads.
The access to Pental Island Floodway and Brookes Lane is impacted resulting in closure.

Japanese encephalitis in northern Victoria
Japanese encephalitis (JE) has recently been detected in Victoria, with increased risk in the northern and north-west of Victoria and along the Murray River. This virus is spread to humans through mosquito bites and may cause a rare and potentially life-threatening infection of the brain.

Murray River Adventure Trail

Stage One of the long-distance nature-based Murray River Adventure Trail will encompass a series of new and upgraded trails and other facilities from Barmah National Park (near Picnic Point) to Koondrook. The trail will pass through Lower Goulburn National Park, Gunbower National Park, Murray River Reserve and Echuca. Find out more about the project.
