Change of Conditions

Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

Waratah Flat Camping Area closed

Hazardous tree identified within the Waratah Flat Camping Area have been treated and will soon be removed from the visitor area allowing the site to re-open.  Parks Victoria staff are working on this issue and hope to have the camping area open to visitors soon.

Currently the site is inaccessible due to the amount of fallen timber and must unfortunately remain closed until this can be rectified.

Snowy River National Park - Track Conditions and Temporary Closures

Parts of the four wheel drive track network within the Snowy River National Park are closed due to very poor track condition.  Tracks affected by this closure are Bowen Track (from Warm Corners Track to Bowen Link Track), Warbisco Track and Bowen Link Track.

The Mt. Joan Staircase on the Deddick Trail is also in poor condition and in order to avoid further deterioration, park visitors are asked to only travel the Deddick Trail in a northerly direction from Rich Knob Track to Bowen Track.
