Situated at the confluence of the Plenty and Yarra Rivers, this 33 hectare park was an important meeting place for the Wurundjeri people.

For those travelling by car the park can be accessed from Birrarung Park Entry Rd. Those on foot or bike can make use of the 2.8 kilometres of flat, sealed trails to, and within, the site. Birrarrung Park is a significant recreation space within the parks along the Yarra River, incorporating two large ephemeral wetlands.

Accessible toilets, picnic tables, shelter, fireplaces with grills, playground, grassy areas and shade are provided. There are no bins. Please take all rubbish away for recycling or disposal.

Westerfolds Park Wood Fired Barbecues removed

Please be advised that wood fired barbecues are no longer available at Westerfolds Park. There are electric barbecues at the Ridge Picnic Area  and Porter St Picnic Area. You can bring your own gas barbecue if you prefer.
