Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

Maribyrnong River Trail partial closure

The Maribyrnong River Trail is closed from ‘Carpark C’ in Brimbank Park, to Canning Street, Avondale Heights. There is no access between these points for safety reasons.

Flood damage has impacted trails, culverts and fences in various sections; these hazardous impacts and debris now need to be removed and rectified to ensure continued safe access for the community.

Planning is underway to repair the impacted section of the trail. A timeframe for reopening the trail will be determined as planning continues.
