Morgans Lookout (Warby-Ovens National Park)

Morgans Lookout on Mt Glenrowan offers unparalleled views of the Ovens and King Valleys and the Victorian Alps. It can only be accessed on foot or by mountain bike via the Mt Glenrowan Lookout Walk (Grade 3, 9km return, 4 hours).

During his travels through the area in 1836, Major Mitchell named the Warby Range 'Futters Range'. It was later renamed after Ben Warby, who took up the 9300ha Taminick Pastoral Run in 1844.

Despite its modest height (approximately 515m) the 400 million-year-old granite range offered good vantage points to Ned Kelly and fellow bushrangers in the late 1800s. From Morgans Lookout on the summit of Mount Glenrowan they could easily see the comings and goings in the small town of Glenrowan.

Due to flooding and or flood damage current closures are: McQuades Bend Tk, Lavis Tk, Loop Tk, Billabong Creek Tk.  
Francis Rd Park entrance is currently closed due to bridge damage, use Frosts Crossing Track as access.
