COVID-19 closures at Point Nepean

In response to advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer about COVID-19, Parks Victoria has closed the following areas at Point Nepean National Park until further notice: Fort Nepean, including underground tunnels (no access beyond Fort Pearce), Gunners Cottage (car park open) and all buildings in the Quarantine Station, including the Visitor Information Centre, Shepherd’s Hut, Hospital 3 and Cook House; and bike hire and ice-cream sales are not available. For more information, please visit www.parks.vic.gov.au/covid19

The Bend Steps closed

Access to The Bend steps, including access to the Bay Beach Walk from this location, will be closed until further notice due to severe erosion. Beach access is available at Observatory Point and the Quarantine Station only.

Building and structure closures due to works

The Disinfecting Complex (Boiler House and Foul Luggage Store) is closed until mid August due to building conservation works.
Works to improve the day visitor facilities adjacent to the Quarantine Station Car Park will be carried out in June and July.  Access to these facilities may be restricted during this time.  Alternate picnic facilities are available at the Parade Ground or Gunners Cottage.
