Sugar Loaf Saddle is an ideal spot to stop for a family picnic in the shade of Messmate forest. Work up an appetite by walking up Sugarloaf Peak and see the Cathedral Range stretch away before you. Take the easy option of following the Canyon Track or challenge yourself and climb along the Wells Cave Track.

Tweed Spur Road - Seasonal Closure

Tweed Spur Road in Cathedral Range State Park is subject to a seasonal closure. The closure will remain in place until the end of October but may be extended due to seasonal conditions.

Cooks Mill, Little River Rd, Cathedral Range SP bridge replacement

The road bridge at Cooks Mill Camping Area is being replaced, with work anticipated to take place from 05  October to 12 November 2020. Camping will continue to be available within the western section of Cooks Mill campground, however vehicle access to the camping area will be from the southern end of the park (via Mount Margaret Rd from Buxton-Marysville Rd). The eastern section of Cooks Mill campground (adjacent to Tweed Spur Track) will be closed as will The Friends Nature Walk and Messmate Track. There may also be some noise in the vicinity of the camping area.
