Burndap Lake Public Landing Project
September 2022: Complete.
Recognising the need for improved public access to the river that caters for changing user needs, Parks Victoria began working with Better Boating Victoria to plan a new purpose-built berthing facility that will serve the community for many years to come. Planning was undertaken to deliver a new purpose-built berthing facility (or pontoon), at Burndap Lake, providing improved public access to recreational boating, paddling, fishing and events on the Maribyrnong River.
Locals and visitors will benefit greatly from easier access to the river through this project and the Maribyrnong River Boat Ramp project, which together will help revitalise this waterside precinct. The public floating pontoon facility has the capacity to accommodate multiple short-term berths and features a lower-level platform suitable for paddle craft.
