Saddle Lookout at Twelve Apostles - Inviting Community Submissions on Proposed Works - EPBC Reference Number 2019/8571

Parks Victoria is planning for a new Saddle Lookout at the Twelve Apostles site, as part of the implementation of the Shipwreck Coast Master Plan 2015.  This is to replace the existing facilities at Saddle Lookout and Castle Rock with a lookout designed to address key existing issues, such as visitor safety, being all abilities accessible, and to cater for the existing visitor demand.  The planning for the lookout has been a collaboration between Parks Victoria and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, and the proposed lookout expresses the Eastern Maar identity and Country through the design.
To ensure compliance with the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999, Parks Victoria is inviting community submissions on the proposed works.  Submissions received will be reviewed by Parks Victoria and part of the final assessment by the Commonwealth.

Submissions can be made via email to: and by post, to: Chloe Allen, Park Planning and Policy, Parks Victoria, 535 Bourke Street , Melbourne VIC 3000.

Submissions will be open until Tuesday 25 August 2020.
Information is provided in the documents on this page on the proposed works, assessment of the proposed works in relation to the listed values, and further information.
